The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, acknowledged the efforts of law enforcement agencies on Saturday and announced that a new decision regarding sanctions from the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine is being prepared, with a decree to be issued on Sunday.
"Today, Ukrainian law enforcement agencies did an excellent job: the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), the State Bureau of Investigation (GBR), the National Police, and our Prosecutor's Office. There is resistance against traitors and various schemes that weaken our state and Ukrainian society. And everyone who stands against Ukraine, against the law in Ukraine, must remember that there will be consequences. We are also preparing a new decision on sanctions from the National Security and Defense Council – the decree will be issued tomorrow," - said Zelensky in a video address on Saturday evening.
It was previously reported that a former member of the Ukrainian Parliament from the "Party of Regions" and "Opposition Bloc," who spread pro-Russian narratives through religious communities of the Russian Orthodox Church in various European countries, has been notified of suspicion of treason and violation of citizens' equality.
According to the "Interfax-Ukraine" agency, the suspect is Vadym Novynskyi, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of the VII-IX convocations (2013-2022). He has been notified of suspicion in absentia.
Additionally, based on materials from the State Bureau of Investigation, the Office of the Prosecutor General reported suspicion against a current member of the Ukrainian Parliament who organized the illegal transportation of his acquaintances across the border.
According to sources in law enforcement agencies, this concerns Ukrainian MP Konstantin Bondarev from the "Fatherland" party.
