The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky announced the need for a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
“I just spoke on the phone with the Chancellor an hour ago, yes, and of course, we need to meet, and we will meet. I cannot specify a date. They (Germany - IF-U) have been very helpful after the United States, providing the largest support, including military aid,” Zelensky said in an interview with Sky News.
According to the President, Scholz's call to Putin was not a “surprise” for him. The head of the Ukrainian state reminded that the German Chancellor “opened Pandora's box.”
At the same time, Zelensky noted that Putin “believes that we are part of Russia. No one, even during this war, has been able to change his opinion and his mind.” He stated that Putin wants to “destroy everything Ukrainian that is connected with Ukraine and Ukrainians.”
The head of the Ukrainian state compared Putin's idea to “Hitler's” and emphasized that he will pursue it to the end.
“It's not just that it sounds very loud, that he (Putin - IF-U) is Hitler: he has all the same traits, just one nation, the world of one nation, the priority of one nation. It's the same method, and he uses the same steps, the same narratives, and the same disinformation in this case,” Zelensky emphasized.
