The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, intends to discuss with the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Keir Starmer, the possibility of sending a military contingent to Ukraine.
“This initiative was proposed by Macron. The British view it positively, but I will discuss the details with the Prime Minister during our meeting, which will take place. He will be visiting Ukraine,” Zelensky stated in comments following the 25th meeting in the "Ramstein" format.
According to the president, there are “already some serious decisions in place for Ukraine” between the countries.
At the same time, Zelensky emphasized that the initiative to send peacekeepers could become part of future security guarantees for Ukraine.
“Certainly, one contingent from a few countries will not be enough. I consider that insufficient. However, the fact that this could be a significant component of future security guarantees is true,” the president remarked.
