The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, stated that the damaged Russian tanker stranded near the German island of Rügen, carrying nearly 100,000 tons of Russian oil, poses a clear threat to the marine environment and the entire coastline.
"This shadow fleet tanker is an oil bomb that, fortunately, has not detonated. But Moscow is using hundreds of such 'bombs', and each one poses a threat," - wrote him on social media platform X.
The President emphasized that Russia bombards Ukraine daily, funding its missiles, strike drones, and guided bombs through its tanker fleet, thereby endangering the ecology in order to kill people.
"I am grateful to all the countries and leaders who are acting against all forms of Russian profits that enrich Putin and enable him to wage war and destabilize Europe and other parts of the world. But more such actions are needed. The Russian tanker fleet must be halted to stop Russian strikes and threats," - Zelensky stressed.
